What Kind Of Man Do You Want To Be? (A Challenge For You)

Had one of those days where it just didn’t seem to happen for you?

Sick of the frustration of living the same unfulfilling day, over and over again?

Well, here’s something you can use, right now, to shake it all up…

Nothing that comes out of AI is theoretical nonsense.

It’s all stuff that I’ve used to transform my life and I’ve used to help others transform theirs – tried and tested.

One thing that I’ve learned over the last 10 years is that my journey is never done.

I’m constantly changing, evolving, and facing new challenges ahead.

One of the most powerful tools I use in making sure I don’t drift back into my old habits is what I call my ‘Thought Of The Day’.

It’s a simple quote / idea / question that I put EVERYWHERE around me so that I’m constantly reminded of where I need to direct my attention to become the Man of my dreams.

I write it on my bedroom wall, on my bathroom mirror, put alarms in my phone, stick it to the top of my computer, scribble it in my diary, and put it just about anywhere else I think I’m going to look throughout my day…

…to make sure I’m constantly on track and moving closer to the life I want.

Every time I feel myself getting too comfortable with it though, I change it up so that there’s something new and fresh for me to focus on.

I’ve gotten lazy and undisciplined since I landed in Bali, so today I changed it up.

My new thought of the day is:

“What kind of Man do you want to be? And what would he do, right now?”

Really simple, but unbelievably powerful.

Take a second to think about how different your life would be if you focussed on this throughout your day.

What would have been different about your morning if instead of thinking about how frustrating your day could be, you were working out how you could take one step closer to becoming the Man you want to be?

What would have been different about your work if instead of trying to see how little you could get away with doing, you were focussed on how powerful, productive, and effective you could be?

What would have been different about when you got home if instead of focussing on how you could tune out, you were focussed on taking steps towards the life you want?

This is what was different for me:

I want to be a the kind of Man who is directed, powerful, focussed, committed, and is constantly making a difference to the world.

So, I asked myself: what would he do, right now?

When I first asked myself this question, I was lying in comfortable and warm bed next to my beautiful girlfriend and I was about to start my day. What ‘He’ would do right now is start his day being focussed and directed…

…and that would be by meditating.

So, I got up, went out on to the balcony, and meditated for 20 minutes.

Once I finished that, I asked myself the question again:

“What kind of Man do you want to be? And what would he do, right now?”

He would start taking action and making a difference.

Because I’d planned my day, last night before I went to bed, this meant starting to take action.

So, I sat down and wrote this post.

Then, I asked myself the same question again.

I got up, made breakfast for myself and my girlfriend, then cut up two chickens, made soup stock from the carcasses, and marinated half the meat for our lunch.

Then had a shower and made my way to my office.

By that time, it was 9am.

I was just about to start my work day and I already felt calm, focussed, directed, like things were under control, and like I’d already started to make a difference.

I’m not 100% sure what I’ll do with the rest of the day but I know today is going to be a good day.

So, here’s my challenge for you:

I want you to set up the ‘Thought Of The Day’ of “What kind of Man do you want to be? And what would he do, right now?”

Put it everywhere: In your phone, in your diary, on your computer, above your TV, EVERYWHERE.

If you’re worried what other people will think when they read it, just abbreviate it to: WKOMDYWTB?

Once it’s all set up, start using it.

Start taking action.

Every time you have to make a decision, ask: ‘What kind of man do I want to be? And what would he do, right now?’

Then start doing it.

Don’t ask questions, don’t weigh up the possibilities, don’t get someone elses opinion, just do it.

Your challenge is to do this for one week.

Just one week.

If you can dedicate 7 days of you life to trying something new, I personally GUARANTEE you that this will be one of the most productive, most powerful, most exciting, and most rewarding weeks of your entire life.

    Beautiful article Leigh

I know what I want in my life: strength, power, confidence. But when I think that exercise some situations scare me.

An example is the approach anxiety.

Eu não sei o que fazer meu amigo.
    Dê-me uma dica.

    Graças homem.

Great post!! sometimes I realize that when I do what I have to do, not only I feel good but suddenly I have plenty of spare time. That means if I concentrate on the present activity and I finish it, then I have more time to do other stuff without being in a rush. Hope that makes sense.

This is a really inspiring article. It is important to think every day about how you could be making your life better. It’s way to easy to fall into the same old patterns of life while being comfortable in your comfort zone. I’ll be asking myself more and more what kind of man I want to be today.

Hey Leigh, thanks a lot for the tips, this article changed a lot the way I think everytime I’m gonna make a decision.

To be honest, mostly times I face some kind of barrier like.. I’m just sitting here reading some stuff on my computer, and sudenly I look to my celphone and see the background image: “WKOMDYWTB?”. Mostly times I start to think that I’m already doing something productive, like reading the End Game or doing homework from college, but also I would like to be with some girl, and then comes the doubt about that I should be going out and walk around the city until I find some attractive girl or I should just skip that and keep the focus on what I’m doing.

So Leigh, what do you think about that? Do you face it as well?

It’s not about just ‘doing something productive’. It’s about how you’re engaging your life.

Are you directed, focussed, powerful, and moving towards an internally fulfilling and rewarding future?

Or are you just going through the motions, following someone else’s plan, and just doing enough to get by?
